Trustees are elected by the congregation to manage the property affairs of the church. Seven trustees are currently charged with the management of all real and personal properties of the church as directed by Session. They are primarily responsible for maintaining the outside and inside of church property. Their work includes repairing the parking lot, trimming trees, lawn maintenance, painting inside and out, maintenance of the heating and air conditioning units, and general cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of the buildings. Although it is not uncommon to see trustees replacing light bulbs or a ceiling fan, pressure cleaning sidewalks, or cleaning out gutters, they frequently have to resort to outside help by identifying needs, investigating costs, seeking responsible contractors, and monitoring the quality of all work done. Overseeing currency of insurance policies, buying and selling property, handling facility rentals are additional duties that they must assume. Over all, trustees invest many hours of personal time making sure that our church and congregation are cared for; they are truly God’s servants.
